On July, 9, the delivery ceremony of professional excavating machine for rescue in Xinwei was held in the front-line rescue guidance headquarter, the 6th branch of Armed Police Transportation, Wangcheng District, Changsha.
Xiang Mingqing, vice-chief of staff of the Armed Police Transport Guidance Department, Chen Fazhan, General Manager of Xinwei, Yang Min, director in the office of military materials in the armed police transport department, Zhang Tianming, strategic partner of Xinwei and president of Hunan Zhonwang as well as all officers in the Armed Police Transport Guidance Department and service staffs of Xinwei attended the delivery ceremony.
In the delivery ceremony, Chen Fazhan, General Manager of Xinwei, delivered the remoter and key of the excavating machine to Xiang Mingqing, vice-chief of staff of the Armed Police Transport Guidance Department. Xiang Mingqing activated the excavating machine. Professional excavating machine for rescue was successfully delivered.
‘Previous rescue work by the armed police had great risks as people did manual work. By displaying advances of devices, efficiency and safety can be both drastically improved.’ Xiang Qingming, vice-chief of staff of the Armed Police Transport Guidance Department, said. In follow-up rescue and disaster relief work in complicated environment, the Armed Police Transport Department would take professional excavating machine for rescue by Xinwei and hence safety and efficiency for rescue work would be largely improved.
‘China is frequented by geological disasters in recent years. Much rescue work is complicated in environment and hence man’s safety can’t be guaranteed’. Chen Fazhan, General Manager of Xinwei, put it. Excavating machine is extensively in use in operation of various particular work conditions such as anti-earthquake relief work, toxic environment, dangerous tunnel, fire control, road in cliff, clearing of explosive spot and so forth. Drivers are faced with great risks. When excavating machines are used together with remote technology, excavation work can be done in more complicated and dangerous construction environment. It would liberate man power and boost operational safety.
According to Chen Fazhan, professional excavating machine for rescue delivered this time can be operated by drivers, via short-distance remote control and long-term remote control. The three operational means are seamlessly switched. In other words, drivers can conduct remote operation on the excavating machine as long as they wear special VR glasses and take remote control or long-distance remote operational cabin.
Binocular 3D camera, servo system, preposition image, wireless transportation of video images and so on are installed in professional excavating machine. After drivers put on VR glass, they can enjoy the same effects when they do in the original driving cabin in terms of vision, auditory sense and safety protection. Then they can use remoter or remote-control operation cabin in their hands to conduct long-distance operation on the excavating machine. Remote control of operation cabin is identical with routine excavating machine in terms of remote control and unpiloted performance. Remote distance can reach 2000 meters. It is known that the remote system has been successfully applied in 21-ton and 36-ton excavating machine and can be applied to full series of excavators from 13 tons to 90 tons.
In the same day, Xinwei also held Ceremony for Tour Check of Ten Thousand Miles of Rescue Services. Engineers of Xinwei headed to the front line to conduct tour check on devices for relief work to ensure sound operation of all rescue devices. Moreover, Xinwei also donated food, beverage and sunstroke prevention drugs to the armed police transport 6th branch.
